Jessie...no comments about how I look...it was 8 am when this pic was taken

I am so excited that spring has finally arrived. Trey and I both love the warmer weather. He also LOVES thunderstorms so this time of year is the best of both worlds. I often tell him he missed is calling...he should have been a meteorologist. MOJO is on spring break this week so she came for a short visit with Aunt Sarah and my Grandmother. My grandma lives in a small town in Kansas so every time she comes to the "big city" it is always and experience. I took Mom and Sarah shopping for mother of the bride dresses. It was successful...both found a dress that will work if they do not find anything better. My cousin Sadie is getting married in June and Jess is getting married in July so we have a summer full of weddings. Landry went shopping with us, if there is one thing she loves to do it is shop :) My Grandma had the best time just pushing Landry in stroller...she had NO interest in shopping for a wedding outfit. Trey is always happy when my mom visits because that means he can golf without any complaining from me.

Baby Wise...so I have been reading the book Baby Wise...I know a little late. I am really anxious for Landry to start sleeping all night. Currently she is eating between 3.5 and 5 oz. every 3 to 3.5 hours. In the evening we give her a bath and put her down around 8 pm. She then gets another bottle around 10:30pm (we usually have to wake her for this one) then typically she sleeps for another 4 to 5 hours. I can't wait for that to be an 8 hour stretch. If any moms out there have advice on how to get her to reach the 7 to 8 hour mark please let me know. We can't wait!

  2. Give her time and she will. Then she'll start teething and you'll have to start all over again. LOL! Welcome to parenthood. She looks adorable!

  3. Girl, you are right on the money at the 6-7 week mark sleep wise. Give it another 6 or so weeks and you'll be on the upswing.

I do have one piece of advice, but some people don't agree. My brother in law is a pediatrician and at the height of my sleep deprevation (6 or 7 weeks in) I asked for advice;). He suggested a 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of rice cereal in her last bottle right before bedtime. Just to give her a little "something to stick to her ribs". We tried it and for us it worked. But, Miss Landry may be a better eater than Taylor was. Believe me, you will know quickly if her digestive system isn't mature enough yet. Just something to ponder.

  4. Actually, looking back maybe it was a 1/4 to a 1/2 tsp. Either way, start small and she if it helps at all:)

  5. Kylie....just give it time! (which seems impossible with your lack of sleep state of mind) You are doing SO good with her sleeping as much as she is. Around 5 months, we made our way to no feedings at night be he was still waking up a lot. Pretty soon he was waking every hour on the hour to have us re-pacify him. At 6 months we let Braden cry it out and he's been sleeping 12 hours a night ever since! It was the best thing ever! Call if you ever need ANYTHING! Carrie Smith

  6. I wish I had steller advice to give, but I can't remember all the cool tricks for timing the baby's feedings so she'll sleep all night. When we have another one (later) I'll be asking you for advice!) You guys are ahead of the game, so try not to worry!! You are doing GREAT!
